What is it?
Ticket monitor is an automated process that identifies any booking with a mismatch between the e-ticket and any BA operated or marketed segments in the itinerary. All mainline, codeshare and franchisee flights are included in the process.
E.g. a BA flight in the booking has changed but the e-ticket has not been reissued or revalidated.
When such a discrepancy is identified, after a pre-determined time delay, the booking is re-examined and if the e-ticket is still unmatched, the booking is updated with a “warning” message and queued to the agent that made the change to the itinerary.
The message indicates that some manner of ticket servicing is required before the passenger will be able to travel.
Under certain circumstances (please see below), the Ticket Monitor will revalidate the e-ticket in order to let the customer experience a smooth check–in and departure process.
What are the benefits?
Timely collection of revenue and service fees when the booking is changed.
Increased eligibility for online, self service check-in helps offering better service to your customers: Passengers with e-tickets matching the itinerary can access a wealth of online services on our web site www.ba.com e.g. Choose the seat of their preference, check-in and, from an increasing number of airports, also print their boarding card. This before even arriving at the airport and avoiding annoying and time consuming queues at ticket desks and check-in counters. Online check-in is available from 24h before flight departure time.
What Ticket Monitor does and when?

Unmatched e-tkt is identified and if after 24h the e-tkt has not been aligned to itinerary, a remark is added and the booking is queued to the office that changed the booking. If at 55 hours prior to departure etkt and itinerary still do not match, then Ticket Monitor auto-revalidates eligible e-tkts |
Read your queues and revalidate/reissue the e-tkt as appropriate |

Between 55 hrs and 24 hrs |
Unmatched e-tkt is identified and if after 3h the e-tkt has not been aligned to itinerary, Ticket Monitor auto-revalidates eligible e-tkts. Amadeus bookings that could not be revalidated will have a remark added and will be queued to the office that changed the booking, while bookings from all other crs will not be actioned. |
Amadeus agents will read their queues and revalidate/reissue the e-tkt as appropriate.
Other CRS agents – no action. |

Unmatched e-tkt is identified and if after 15 mins the e-tkt has not been aligned to itinerary, Ticket Monitor auto-revalidates eligible e-tkts. Amadeus bookings that could not be revalidated will have a remark added and will be queued to the office that changed the booking provided that at least 4h remain before departure, while bookings from all other crs will not be actioned. |
Amadeus agents will read their queues and revalidate/reissue the e-tkt as appropriate.

Which bookings are eligible for auto-revalidation?
Any booking that has seen no change to fare, booking class or city of departure/arrival.
An e-ticket must be attached to the booking at the time of the change.
All changed segments must be booked in one of the following classes: F,J,W or Y.
What types of bookings are excluded from the process?
Paper ticketed bookings.
Changes to flights with e-ticket coupon status other than A/O.
What does the warning messaging look like?
RM remark in 1A PNRs.
OTHS SSR in other GDS PNRs.
