DISRUPTION NOTIFICATION is a tool which informs BA passengers and travel agents electronically about flight cancellations within 48 hours before departure.
A text message (SMS) and an e-mail will be sent requesting the passenger to get in touch with the travel agent or BA. At the same time, the PNR will be updated with the respective cancellation information.
To take advantage of this service the booking must contain mobile phone number and e-mail address.
What are the benefits for the passenger and the travel agent?
> Pro-active information available to all clients affected by a cancellation, providing the necessary contact details had been put in the PNR
- The passenger knows about the cancellation before proceeding to the airport, saving time and avoiding frustration
- The travel agent is being informed at the same time and gets to know if the passenger already contacted British Airways regarding rebooking/alternatives
>Avoiding long queues and waiting time at the airport ticket desks
The following GDS entries are necessary in order to make this service work:
phone number: country code without 00, leaving out any 0 at the start of the area code where appropriate
Please note that the following criteria must be met in order to be able to change the booking online: Booking segments need to be confirmed The booking must have a valid e-ticket associated Must be a commercial booking (i.e. no redemption booking) Groups are not included Fare is interlineable (some fare basis are excluded) No open segments within the PNR PNR cannot contain an unaccompanied minor E-ticket coupon status must be O or A |
