Passive segments allow agents to issue tickets without the live space being booked in that PNR.
British Airways is able to check if there is live space booked in our system and the name/flight/date are identical to those held in our system.
Passive segments will be rejected if the live booking and the passive booking have been created in the same GDS system by different IATA numbers.
If we reject a passive segment an ION message is sent to the travel agent with a *NO* status code which will include a *SSR* message giving the reason why it has been disallowed.
Please note that the live booking will never be touched.
When working in the same CRS, agents can issue tickets in the live booking. To give another agent access to a booking, the following entries apply:
A) AMADEUS:
You will need to enter a security element into the live booking, e.g.
ES/GPARXX2100-B TO GIVE READ/WRITE ACCESS TO PARXX2100
B) GALILEO:
This can be done by the use of a selective access agreement. An agreement for each agency will need to be put in place. To put the agreement in place GALILEO needs the authority from each of the agents advising what sort of access they require. The agent will then be able to queue as normal:
QEB/PCC/QNUMBER
C) SABRE:
1. Turn the booking over to the other agent with the following entry: 6=TA/XXXX WHERE XXX IS THE PSEUDO CITY CODE
The original office will not be able to see the booking anymore unless the other agency will send it back with the above mentioned entry.
2. The agencies give each other branch access.
3. The originating office can give global security to the other office with the following entry:
W/GS/A/XXXX/ALLOTH/PNRV-XYZ (Where XXX is the pseudo city code and XYZ are the access option given)
Possible access options are: - 3 GFAX
- 4 AFAX
- 5 REMARKS
- 6 RECEIVED FROM
- 7 TICKETING/TIME LIMIT
- 9 PHONE
- A ACCOUNTING LINES
- B SEATS
- C TRAVEL POLICY REMARKS
- D DK NUMBER
- F FUTURE PRICING
- I ITINERARY
- L DESCRIPTIVE BILLING INFORMATION
- M TRAVEL AGENCY FIELD
- N NAME
- P PREPAID TICKET ADVICE
- Q FREQUENT TRAVELLER FIELD
- R TICKET ON DEPARTURE
- S STORED FARE
- W PHASE IV TICKET RECORD
D) WORLDSPAN:
The other agency needs to be set up in the bridge/branch table. This will result in the other agency being able to see all bookings made.
For details see HELP BRIDGE
Other checks are already in place:
1) Is the IATA number present in the passive message correct ?
2) Is the IATA number in the live booking identical with the one in the passive booking? (if so agent can use live booking to issue ticket)
3) Are the segment details different between the live and the passive booking (flight/date/class)?
4) Are the live booking and the passive booking created using the same GDS system by the same IATA number?
5) Are the live booking and the passive booking created using different GDS systems by the same IATA number? |
