Oneworld online planning and booking tool

Please find below useful information for reference if your customers enquire about the new tool. The tool can help you plan oneworld or Global Explorer fares without the need to call or send faxes to British Airways for fare confirmation. The booking can then be created in your CRS as you will be unable to claim the online booking from BA or any other oneworld carrier

oneworld launches new online planning and booking tool

The oneworld Explorer Round-the-World fare is the most popular of the alliance’s consumer fares – and one of the most popular round-the-world fares in the market

Travel can be on any of oneworld's ten member airlines and near 20 affiliates who between them serve almost 700 destinations in approaching 150 countries. With oneworld currently the only alliance with any member airlines based in South America, Australasia or Asia's Middle East, it offers unrivalled round-the-world coverage of those regions

Unlike all other round-the-world fares in the market, oneworld Explorer is priced not on the mileage flown but on the number of continents visited or passed through – keeping planning as simple and flexible as possible

Key Elements

  • The tool incorporates an itinerary planning function and an on-line booking engine for oneworld Explorer itineraries
  • It will be available on http://www.oneworld.com/ > Flight info > Plan and Book Your Itinerary http://www.oneworld.com/ow/flight-info/plan-and-book-your-itinerary
  • All carriers will provide a link to the oneworld website. For BA this will be through the 'Flights and More' pages.
  • Customers can access a 'Demo Tool' on the site.
  • Itineraries can feature up to 16 flight and or surface segments.
  • If the customer has made a booking where British Airways is the first international carrier, then they will be directed to contact their local contact centre to make payment and have the eticket issued.
