PNRs with different booking classes and flight segments but with same passenger names, same departure and arrival destination and same flight timing are tracked as duplicate bookings.
If one of the PNRs contains a ticket number it will not be cancelled but the other PNR without a ticket number will be cancelled instead.
Update effective 12 September 2007
Further to the Duplicate booking cancellation process, we now have the ability to check for duplicate segments within a PNR (as well as the existing process to check across different PNRs).
Exclusions will apply, for example a ticketed PNR or a Group PNR would be excluded and therefore never cancelled.
It is also possible to send a warning for a suspected Dupe, so again this will apply when it is not safe to cancel the segment.
1. Segments to be cancelled will be: - Same origin and destination city
- Domestic and Shorthaul (all cabins) with same date but could be a different flight number and/or class
- Longhaul cabins W and M with same date but could be a different flight number and/or class
- Passengers with either Blue Executive cards or other non-validated cards or passengers without an Executive card.
PNR Update for Cancelled Duplicate Segment: The PNR will be updated in Amadeus with: - SSROTHSZZ CANCELLED AS DUPE
- The cancelled segment will automatically move into history in the Amadeus PNR
- The SSR will be sent to the GDS PNR with the cancelled segments which appear in the GDS PNR itinerary as HX (except they will appear in history for Amadeus travel agents)
2. Segments to be warned will be: The PNR will be updated in Amadeus with: - Longhaul cabins W and M with a different date but within 24 hours
- Either or both segments are in F or J cabin
- Passengers with Amadeus validated PREM/Gold/Silver or Oneworld equivalent Executive Cards
PNR Update for Warned Duplicate Segment: - SSROTHSZZ SUSPECT DUPE SEGMENT ON ROUTE (ORIGIN-DESTINATION) PLS ACTION
- History will show the action taken as: RF-REDUNDANT CR-LONBA07RS
- The SSR will be sent to the GDS PNR for action by the agent
